We prepare the agenda, invite the right people, set the duration. But we rarely choose the venue with the same care. That is a mistake: where a meeting takes place directly influences its quality.
A neutral setting changes the dynamic
Bringing people together on one party's premises creates a subtle imbalance: the host plays at home. A neutral venue — a room booked halfway — puts everyone on equal footing and encourages more candid exchanges.
Comfort drives attention
A poorly ventilated, noisy or ill-equipped room drags a meeting down before it even starts. Conversely, a well-kept, quiet and well-equipped setting sustains attention and naturally shortens exchanges. Comfort is not a luxury: it is a lever for effectiveness.
The right size at the right time
Gathering three people in a room for twenty scatters the energy; cramming them into too small a space tightens it. Booking a room suited to the number of participants seems trivial, but it plays on collective focus.
Accessibility, often overlooked
The best room is useless if half the participants reach it reluctantly. Choosing a central venue for everyone, or halfway between the main guests, reduces lateness and absences — and starts the meeting on the right foot.
